OldVibes

OldVibes is a marketplace for secondhand goods in the shape of a reel: sellers post photos and short videos of an item. I built it alone, end to end: the API, the web app and the mobile app.

A post lives for 24 hours. It starts as pending and goes live only after staff approve it; an hourly cron job then archives whatever has passed its 24 hours.

Buyers and sellers talk over Socket.io, one room per conversation. An offer is a message type of its own: the buyer names a price, the seller accepts or rejects it, and both sides see the status change live. When the socket drops, a REST endpoint still carries the message.

The stack is Express on Bun with MongoDB, Redis and S3 behind the API, Socket.io for the live parts, Next.js on the web and Expo on mobile.
